What Makes This Series Special — 10 Asian Capitals: A Traveler‘s Journey

Strictly Controlled HSK 3 Vocabulary

Every story uses only HSK 1–3 words plus city-specific proper nouns (capital names, famous sites, local dishes). No unexpected advanced words appear. Target vocabulary is limited to 10 new travel-related words per episode and is recycled naturally across the 10-episode journey.

Authentic Travel Language

Stories include real travel situations across Southeast and East Asia: taking local transport (吉普尼 in Manila, tuk-tuks in Bangkok), ordering street food, visiting temples and palaces, dealing with hot weather, using ride-hailing apps, and understanding local customs like removing shoes before entering temples.

Natural Descriptive Prose

Every episode uses short, clear sentences (8–15 characters each) with calm, warm, immersive language. Grammar is accurate but never stiff. The capital city is the main character — no personal names, no complex dialogue, just the feeling of “being there” in each unique Asian metropolis.

Daily Vocabulary Recycling

Core travel words (旅游, 干净, 方便, 热, 便宜, 贵, 美食, 辣, 甜, 拍照, 美丽, 天气, 地铁, 出租车, 酒店, 餐厅, 菜单, 味道) appear in every episode across all 10 capitals. Learners encounter the same vocabulary in new city contexts again and again, supporting long-term memory.

Real Cultural Content

Tokyo’s sushi train etiquette and quiet train cars, Seoul’s shopping street food culture, Singapore’s hawker centers and chili crab, Bangkok’s floating markets and mango sticky rice, Kuala Lumpur’s coconut milk rice and twin towers, Hanoi’s sidewalk coffee and pho, Manila’s colorful jeepneys and sunset bay, Jakarta’s traffic and fried rice, Yangon’s golden pagodas and tea culture, Phnom Penh’s riverside coconuts and history — all woven naturally into every story.
